Notes This Geoff Tate show was the last of the tour, and it almost didn't get taped. I had been to the previous 2 shows (in Santa Ana and LA) and the setlist hadn't changed at all, so I was thinking "why bother since it will be the same setlist?" It's a good thing I went ahead and taped the show anyway, as you'll hear when you DL the show!

For those of you not very familiar, Geoff Tate put out a solo album and did a tour during the summer of 2002 for it. He played all the songs from his solo album, but even then, at least half the set consisted of Queensryche songs, many of which were obscure! Better yet, abooot half the Queensryche songs were reworked, which was cool, at least to these ears. For instance, Hero had a style that reminded me a bit of U2's Miami (from Pop) and the opening track, The Killing Words had a cool techno style to it.

This particular show took place at Cane's Bar and Grill - a venue that probably held no more than 300 or so people, so this recording is very in-your-face. The stage itself was TINY, so to fit 6 people on it, with all their gear, was probably quite a challenge. Perhaps a challenge that maybe the road crew wasn't up to. While I don't recall anything significant (it has been a while since I've given this show a listen), apparently the band had problems. After the solo in Lady Jane, the band either royally trainwrecked or just decided to screw around on purpose...either way, the result was pretty interesting! And then at the end of the show, when it came to play the rocking part of The Thin Line, the band sped up the song a lot more than they had at the previous gigs!

Unfortunately, because of the problems they were having, they skipped doing the second encore, so what is being posted *is* the entire show. IMO, the show was still good, and a funny, if odd, way to end the tour. Enjoy!
