Taken from Ron's Rush ROIO
Review:
Capturing Rush in a Midwest performance, this ROIO offers a very tight HYF
show. This is a great show, but is typical of HYF performances. The one
point of note is that the band was having some feedback problems during this
show, especially during Prime Mover. Although the song doesn’t stop, it
sounds as if Geddy actually stops playing for a few seconds while the sound
crew struggles to fix the problem. An excellent audience recording. The
sound is a bit compressed, and there’s a small amount of high-end
distortion, but overall, this show sounds great. Not the best from the HYF
tour (I think the 5/5/88 show is better), but a good addition to any
collection.
The Digital Dan:
This was the first recording produced by Digital Reproductions back in the
summer for '96. And to this day, it is still the best show I have found from
this tour. But the original production was from and unknown source, had a
speed problem, and wasn't quite as complete. So for personal and nostalgic
reasons, I wanted to redo this particular release. The new source is a 1st
gen analog and it was used to update the original production. This show is
very clean of audience noise with a very clear reception. It doesn't have a
very wide stereo separation, but everyone comes through very clearly. As far
as the title, I get asked that a lot. If you've ever driven through cattle
country during the summer, it stinks really bad especially if your car
doesn't have a recycle setting on the air conditioner. I was generally
happiest when I was "Leaving Omaha"! No noise reduction or hiss reduction
was used on this production. As with all Digital Reproductions recordings,
it's only available via free trade and never for sale. Just visit the
trading links section to find people that will gladly trade this recording
for free.
LeeGeddy:
A great addition to anyone's HYF list and a welcome update to "Leaving
Omaha". Here's the source info that was provided: Master Cassette (taper JF)
> 1st Gen > DAT > CDR. Many thanks to Rubicon (once again) for obtaining
this fine source for this "Platinum Edition" release. THIS IS AVAILABLE FREE
VIA TRADING. AVAILABLE IN SHN AND AUDIO FORMATS. (FEB '02) |
