Notes The Digital Dan
   (Audio - 9)

Taken from a digital clone of a 1st gen source. This is more or less a maintenance release of a previous DR production. Since the original production was done 4 years prior with a lower quality source, an upgrade seemed in order. Not only is the 1st gen an improvement sonically over the original, the processing software, hardware, and techniques have also improved in that time. This is by far the best audience source of the tour and rivals the known soundboard in clarity and impact. A worthy addition to any collection and a must have for even you "soundboard only" people. No noise or hiss reduction was used on this production. As with all Digital Reproductions releases, this is for free trade and blank media trade only. Please do not buy or sell, help keep the spirit of trading alive and well.    (2002-02-12)

Ron's Rush RoIO Review

It seems like Rush gives a little extra during Milwaukee performances, and this show is no exception. The performance is very seamless and tight, even though the setlist is the same as with almost every other show on this tour. What really makes this show special is the sound quality -- it almost sounds like it could have been an official release! The fidelity is great, and all the instruments can be very clearly heard. Every tom, cymbal crash, and bass riff is crisp and clean. This is so far the best full PoW show I’ve heard.    (1999-04-01)

The best audience boot from the Power Windows tour to date, excellent audience recording. The only drawback to this release, is that the overall speed runs approximately 2% too fast.    (2003-11-30)

A FANTASTIC audience recording!!! This is the best sounding PoW show in my collection. I prefer to listen to this show over Philly '86 SBD any day. The sound is full with much clarity and great ambiance of a live recording. The comments taken from the Great Rush Bootleg (GBR) is incorrect. This source is from an analogue source, not a DAT. I highly doubt that someone had a portable DAT in 1986. Here's the source info that was provided: Master Cassette (taper JF) > 1st Gen > DAT > CDR. According to the taper "Milwaukee show was done with a Sony WMD-C, modified Aiwa CM30-A mic (with weak right channel) and Maxell MX C-90's." Many thanks to Rubicon (once again) for obtaining this fine source for this "Platinum Edition" release. THIS IS AVAILABLE FREE VIA TRADING. AVAILABLE IN SHN AND AUDIO FORMATS.    (2002-02-12)

Ron's Rush RoIO Review

The best sounding boot from the Power Windows tour. From an audience DAT. Excellent sound. The encore was played in medley format (no gaps between songs) but the songs were played in their entirety with nothing cut.    (1999-04-01)
