| Notes |
This show serves as a time capsule of a long passed era of
Dream Theater. It took place in the summer of 1993, and it was the last US
date of their extensive tour supporting Images and Words. This was a bit
after "Pull Me Under" hit, the band's biggest commercial success.
It's interesting to see how much the band has changed since then; their
clothes, their haircuts, their gear, and their styles of playing and
performance. It's funny to see that most of their audience is made up of
"MTV kids", moshing and crowd surfing away. The crowd is a bit out of hand
at a few points, with a couple of kids climbing onto the stage. At one
point, someone is crowd surfing and being pushed onto the stage, and James
pushes him back into the crowd.
This show looks very decent for its age. It looks to be a very low
generation (first or second, I'd guess). The colors are vibrant and details
can be made out fairly easily. There is a problem of overexposure at times,
when the spotlight is on a band member, making them appear very "washed
out", but overall it looks good. I would give the video and audio both a 7
out of 10. For the most part the camera work is good, focusing on the
appropriate band member at the right time.
This show is significant in Dream Theater's history because it was the last
show Kevin Moore would play with the band in the US.
This DVD contains both menus and chapters. |
